Photo Keeper is a simple app that lets you keep all your favorite photos on your iPhone, while allowing you to free up storage space to take more pictures!
If you're anything like us, you love to keep all your favorite photos on your phone…but they take up so much storage space! Every time you go to take a new photo, you get an alert warning you there's not enough room to take another picture. So, then you need to go though your photos…trying to find ones to delete so you can make more room. It can be so frustrating!
Photo Keeper aims to solve this problem.
How does it work? Pretty simple, actually. The camera on your phone can take some pretty high quality photos; depending on which model of phone, these can be 5-megapixel or 8-megapixel images. These high quality photos look great, but they are much larger than your phone's screen. Unless you really need the full sized image (for zooming in to see the fine details), why not just store a smaller version of the image; one specifically sized to fit your screen? Well, that's what Photo Keeper does!
When you import your photos into Photo Keeper, Photo Keeper checks the dimensions of your phone's screen, then re-sizes each of your photos to best fit the phones screen dimensions. It then saves this smaller version of your photo as a new file.
IMPORTANT NOTE -- Photo Keeper does not delete the original photo for you. It is up to you to delete the original photo when you are ready.
Since the Photo Keeper copy of your photo is smaller, and, therefore, of lower quality, it is HIGHLY recommended that you transfer the original, full-sized image to your computer or a cloud service before deleting it.
